Bay Business Group, LLC is led by David Bradsher, CPA.

After 20 years in the CPA field, 11 with accounting giant Deloitte & Touche, David recognized the great need of small-, medium-sized and emerging businesses for specialized accounting services that would empower them to focus on the core of their business instead of spending valuable time on complex financial issues.

David’s vision, which grew into Bay Business Group, was (and still is) to provide these businesses with a service model typically available only to the largest companies.

Today, BBG is much more than a bookkeeping service. David and his team use a consultative approach that also includes guidance on business planning, tax planning, business strategy, forecasting and budgeting.

David Bradsher, CPA

President

David Bradsher, CPA is the President of BBG.

David is a seasoned professional with over 25 years’ experience serving clients large and small. David started his CPA career assisting small- and medium-sized businesses. He developed a deep understanding of the issues facing organizations and utilized these insights to provide practical and effective internal accounting and tax-reporting solutions.

Later, as an associate in the National Tax and Management Consulting practice at Deloitte & Touche, one of the Big Four public accounting firms, he developed a broad-based understanding of tax and accounting information systems.

As a Senior Manager, for Deloitte & Touche Management Solutions, he led teams focused on assisting small and emerging businesses achieve their visions for growth, profitability and stability.

Today, David serves clients that require and recognize the benefits of close attention from an experienced professional. Many of these clients may have utilized the services of an Accountant or Consultant in the past but now want something different, something more — a trusted business advisor.

David and his associates provide this level of service and focus on the needs of small, medium-sized and emerging businesses.

Julie Bradsher

Vice President

Julie Bradsher, Vice President

In addition to leading the HR function at Bay Business group, Julie lends her expertise in HR benefits to Bay Business clients. Julie has more than 25 years experience in strategic planning, and research, along with vendor management in the fields of HR, marketing and media.

She has also served as PTA president at her son’s school for two terms, and has served on and chaired numerous committees at her church. Her free time is spent sailing on the Chesapeake Bay with her husband and son.

Joanna Barreto

CPA Manager

Joanna Barreto is one of our CPA managers; she joined Bay Business Group in 2021. Joanna is a native of Puerto Rico and holds an MBA in Accounting from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico—Metropolitan Campus. Outside of the office she spends her time spoiling her two dogs, Skye and Adriana. She also enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, photography, and spending time with family, especially her two handsome nephews.

Kim Doyle, EA

EA Manager

Kim is one of our Accounting Managers! She is an Enrolled Agent. Enrolled Agents (EAs) are federally authorized tax practitioners who have demonstrated technical competence in tax law and licensed to practice by the US Dept of Treasury. Only EAs, Attorneys and CPAs may represent taxpayers before the IRS.

Kim has more than 20 years of active financial management experience. She joined Bay Business Group in 2011. Prior to joining Bay Business Group, she served as the manager of a local credit union. Before that, she managed the $5 million Conservation Policy Program for the World Wildlife Fund. Kim is well-versed in developing processes and procedures that simplify the complex world of government reporting structures.

A Cum Laude graduate of Duke University, Kim has lived in Spain and also served as a Docent at the National Gallery of Art.

Franziska Jupiter

CPA Manager

Franziska is a native of Germany, and received the equivalent of a BA in Business Administration, as well as her MBA from the University of Applied Science in Hamburg, Germany. She joined Bay Business Group as a CPA Manager in 2017, after stops at Lufthansa Group as well as a Mid-Atlantic account CPA firm. Our clients are fortunate that she brings extensive tax experience to BBG. When she’s not working on debits and credits, Franziska keeps busy as a non-paid uber driver getting her daughters to their school, sports and other daily activities.

Mary Leighty, CPA

CPA Manager

Mary is one of our Accounting Managers. With a focus on small-to-medium-sized businesses, as well as clients in the government contracting industry, Mary is committed to delivery tax and financial services that meet each client’s unique objectives. A seasoned professional and licensed CPA, Mary brings more than 25 years of accounting and tax experience to our clients at Bay Business Group. Mary graduated with Distinction from George Mason University with a dual major in Accounting and Decision Sciences and Management. In her spare time, Mary enjoys spending time with her family, travel, gardening and creating mosaic art.

Shane McKinley

CPA Manager

As a CPA and finance professional, Shane brings more than 30 years of accounting management experience to our clients. Prior to joining Bay Business Group, Shane was the controller and CFO of several small businesses in healthcare services and government contract consulting and sales. In addition to his background in accounting, Shane has management experience in human resources, business banking, taxes and insurance, and information technology. Shane is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Accounting. In his off-hours, Shane enjoys landscaping, music and crossword puzzles.

Jamie Townsend

CPA Manager

Jamie is a talented and tenured CPA with an emphasis on tax. Jamie grew up in the Northern Virginia area and graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from George Mason University. She brings a dedicated focus and discipline to her clients, helping them maintain compliance with the ever-changing rules and regulations of the IRS. In her spare time, Jamie volunteers with Worthy Dog fostering dogs in need of care. She also enjoys trailing behind her daughter to competitive horse shows across the Mid-Atlantic.

Jackie Ard

Bookkeeping Specialist

Jackie Ard is one of our bookkeeping specialist. Jackie joined Bay Business Group in 2008, with extensive experience in payroll and accounts receivable. Jackie loves volunteering in her community, and has served as the treasurer for the Tri-City Baseball League in Texas. After that two-year stint, DCAA-compliant accounting is a walk in the park!

Alison Bober

Bookkeeping Specialist

Alison has a wide range of experience to draw upon. A graduate of Rice University in Texas, she started her career as an actuary and then moved into the entertainment field in a variety of production positions. A mother of two daughters, Alison spends much of her free time in various volunteer positions with her church and community.

Valerie Brennan

Bookkeeping Specialist

Another Bookkeeping Specialist is Valerie Brennan. Originally from France, Valerie is a Terrapin who received her Bachelors of Arts in Marketing and Logistics from the University of Maryland. She’s spent time in Finance, Real Estate, Operations, Logistics, Accounting – all the areas that make for a well-rounded QuickBooks specialist. In her spare time, she volunteers at the Rotary Club of Vienna, and enjoys a fun game of Rummikub or Sequence. She loves watching her kids play soccer, flag football and dance.

Leslie Campbell

Bookkeeping Specialist

Leslie is one of our bookkeeping specialist! Leslie is an accomplished professional with experience working in a fast-paced environment. She directed the daily operations of three different retail bank branches, developed a variety of training programs for bank associates in multiple states, and supervised the merger and acquisition of banking centers throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Leslie likes to relax at Nationals games with her husband and daughter.

Alicia Chan

Bookkeeping Specialist

Alicia Chan joined Bay Business Group in 2007 and has over 20 years of accounting experience. Beyond bookkeeping, she also works with our clients with their individual tax preparation. She has previous experience in corporate banking risk management and grant management at a non-profit cancer organization.

Cathy Constantine

Bookkeeping Specialist

Cathy wears dual hats as a super bookkeeper and a super mom proudly. As a former PTA Treasurer, Secretary, Girl Scout Cookie manager, Swim Team coordinator and hockey Mom, Cathy brings a level of multi-tasking and eye to detail that is unparelled. Time spent in Human Relations at the US Department of Justice as well as serving as a Personnel Management Specialist at the US. Merit Systems Protection Board helps round out her professional background. Cathy joined Bay Business Group as a Bookkeeping Specialist in 2016.

Mary Ferrara

Bookkeeping Specialist

Mary came to us with a consulting background at firms such as IBM, Price Waterhouse Coopers and Anderson Consulting, among others. An early developer of B2B e-business technology, she designed strategies to offer services in the areas of Direct Settlement and Pricing across industries. One of her key achievements was designing and implementing a unique billing system for a federal government client. A graduate of William and Mary, she can be found most weekends spending time with her husband and their three daughters. They enjoy volunteering in their community, trying new restaurants and exploring Washington, DC.

Darcy Gagne

Bookkeeping Specialist

Darcy recently joined Bay Business Group in 2018 as a Bookkeeping Specialist. She is a proud Navy wife and mother of two adult children, which helps her stare down any unruly client! She has experience as an assistant controller and in-house accountant, which is beneficial to helping her client’s achieve their goals. After multiple moves throughout the US with her husband, Darcy is now comfortably ensconced in Tennessee. In addition to her work at Bay Business Group, she provides support to the families in the Navy’s Returning Warrior Workshops as a facilitator. When not working or volunteering, she can be found with a book in her hand under the sun.

Theresa Griffith

Bookkeeping Specialist

Theresa started as a financial analyst at Booz, Allen and Hamilton managing the P & L for her division, including time expense reporting and accounts payable and receivable. Her other accounting positions incorporated processing multi-state payroll for nearly 100 employees, supervising a team of 7-10 administrative personnel through the United States for a federal client, and serving as the contract leader. She currently serves in the role of Treasurer for the Athletic Booster’s at her son’s high school. She enjoys family activities with her husband and three boys and volunteering in the community.

Karen Herbert

Bookkeeping Specialist

Karen is one of our bookkeeping specialist! Karen received her B.A in Finance from Catholic University and earned her M.B.A at George Washington University. Prior to joining Bay Business Group in 2011, most of her work experience was spent in Financial and Systems analyst positions. Karen served as the president of her Homeowners association for five years. She enjoys playing competitive tennis and is an accomplished vocalist who performs in Northern Virginia.

Kate Ketchum

Bookkeeping Specialist

Kate received her B.S. in Business with an emphasis in Finance & Accounting from Hawaii Pacific University on Oahu where she grew up and earned her M.B.A at Cameron University. Prior to joining Bay Business Group in 2021, her prior work experience was spent in Financial Management positions with specialties in both team leadership, communication, and conflict resolution. She enjoys investing in the next generation and is an accompanist who both teaches piano and performs in Northern Virginia.

Tina LaFrenier

Bookkeeping Specialist

Tina is a highly motivated accounting professional with extensive experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. A native of Alabama and mother of five in a blended family, Tina is also a supportive Navy wife. Outside of work, Tina enjoys family time, traveling, and photography.

Chantell Miranda

Bookkeeping Specialist

Chantell is a bookkeeping specialist at Bay Business Group and is another of the company’s international nomads. Currently living in Chile, Chantell graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in Accounting, and brings experience not only from working for the U.S. Government while living overseas, but also has extensive experience in money management operations. Chantell is the proud mother of two, the younger of whom is attending the University of Hawaii. Chantell enjoys time away from her computer in the great outdoors – surfing, skiing and hiking.

Desiree Nielsen

Desiree is a bookkeeping specialist at Bay Business Group. Desiree brings a wide range of experience to Bay Business Group, having served as a Residential Loan Officer, a licensed insurance agent and a residential marketing manager in her previous positions. She is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and when not working at Bay Business Group, she enjoys being active in outdoor sports.

Denise Nisbett

Denise is one of our bookkeeping specialist! Denise has a very diverse background with the early part of her career spent in the field of Biology as an instructor, educator and laboratory manager. The second half of her career has included Financial Planning, Accounting and Tax. A busy mother of two and a proud wife of a Naval officer, Denise brings her natural curiosity and love of process to her clients.

Kerry is a bookkeeping specialist with Bay Business Group. She has her Bachelor of Science in Insurance & Risk Management from Indiana State University.

Anamika Sagar

Bookkeeping Specialist

Anamika is one of our global bookkeeping specialists, with 8 years of experience in Accounting, Finance and Budgeting in India. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and her Master’s degree in International Business in India as well. She is also a certified lecturer in Business Management, endorsed by the University Grants Commission of India. She has also worked in the research field with the Indian Chambers of Commerce. Anamika is trained in Indian Classical dance, and has represented India in many countries throughout Asia. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, meditation and exploring new places with her family.

Guia Wallace

Bookkeeping Specialist

Guia brings more than 20 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience to her clients at Bay Business Group. With a degree from the School of Foreign Service, International Economics, from Georgetown University, Guia is more than up to the task of tracking down the smallest accounting entry to balance her clients’ books. She has a knack for diplomacy in her relationships when working through difficult situations, and always seeks the best outcome for all. A true global citizen, Guia was born in the Philippines, grew up in Puerto Rico and Wisconsin and spent a year abroad studying in Japan. A mother of two and past PTA president for her children’s middle school, Guia enjoys exploring small town life with her husband in her spare time.

Lisa Toews-Daugherty

Financial Associate

Lisa has spent more than 15 years in the financial services field, working within the investment community and with senior management. Lisa earned her B.S.B.A in Finance and Marketing, Cum Laude, from the University of Richmond and her M.B.A from George Mason University with a thesis on Corporate Governance in Small Companies. Lisa has worked for a publicly traded company in Investor Relations, for a non-profit providing retirement plans to the public sector in the investment management division, and for a mutual fund company in both the Marketing and Compliance departments. She has also chaired a non-profit Endowment Fund committee for the past six years. An active member of her church and supporter of her two daughters’ sports and music activities, Lisa divides her spare time between chauffeuring to soccer, basketball, diving, gymnastics, cello and flute and book club.

Laura Fisher

Wealth Management Assistant

Laura joined Bay Business Group as a Bookkeeping Specialist, but realized her true calling is in the financial planning field and moved to BBG Financial Planning as a Wealth Management Assistant. A political junkie, Laura graduated from Dickinson with her B. A in Political Science and then obtained her M.A. in Public Policy at American. She spent time on Capital Hill before transitioning to finance at Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC). When not watching C-Span, Laura is an avid volunteer with her church and dedicated 5 years to the after-school Shakespeare Program at her children’s elementary school.

Jennifer Estevez

Office Manager

Jennifer cares deeply about our clients and believes they are best served if the office is running as smoothly as possible. She is organized, focused on customer service and likes being part of the BBG team. Jennifer loves to travel and has lived in Bulgaria, Austria, El Salvador and Slovakia. She spends her free time gardening, hiking and fostering kittens for the Animal Welfare League of Arlington.
